Sprout

Sprout’s goal is to educate the youth about the countless career opportunities within the agriculture industry, as well as provide local businesses and farms with a larger job applicant pool. Sprout plans to do this by creating an agricultural education program with two types of curriculum: AgriBusiness, focusing on agriculture business skills and knowledge, and AgTechnology, focusing on the incorporation of technology in the agriculture industry and the careers in that field. After a two-semester pilot program with the Cunningham Children’s Home, Sprout will expand its scope to be administered in other educational institutions, like high schools.

Sprout also wants to utilize activities and workshops to engage the local community in public spaces, such as libraries, classrooms, and other community spaces. We want to provide opportunities for community members to connect and learn from both each other and us while we further Sprout’s mission. By reaching all areas of the local community, we will hopefully reduce the stigma and, instead, foster an interest in agriculture careers.

By providing a curriculum that focuses on AgriBusiness and AgTechnology, and also hosting engaging community workshops connected to our mission, we will be introducing young people to two very prominent areas within agriculture.
