To empower youth and increase mobility in the CU community, Circle Cycle promotes bicycles as a vehicle for social change. By partnering with local organizations, such as the Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club, Circle Cycle teaches kids how to fix abandoned bikes and make them their own through a six week earn-a-bike program. With students abandoning their bikes on campus, the campus environment becomes unnecessarily crowded and faces a burden for these bikes’ storage. Thus, circle cycle’s mission aims to upcycle these bikes to help students obtain the mobility they deserve. Two years ago, Circle Cycle successfully launched the first class of the pilot program with 8 students at the Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club. We look forward to once again working with local groups to give as many kids access to our program and curriculum.
